The Book
The School-Based Behavior Technician is a training handbook and studying resource for individuals pursuing a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification in a school setting. The purpose of this book is to serve as a means to prepare and train for the certification exam following the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) RBT task list. The content of this book would also be useful for anyone who wants to learn more about applied behavior analysis in a school setting.
This handbook is a supplemental tool to completing the 40-hour required RBT training and aims to serve as a professional guide to individuals providing behavior analytic services in a school setting. This book would be a great companion to the online training offered below.
The School-Based Behavior Technician RBT online training is based on the Registered Behavior Technician Task List (2nd ed.) and designed to meet the 40-hour training requirement for the RBT credential.
This training is structured using brief modules for each task content using a combination of lecture, video examples, and knowledge checks.
The ethics code portion aims to review and further explain the ethical guidelines for RBTs following the recent Ethics Code (2.0) using school-based scenarios and applications. The purpose of this training is to train individuals pursuing a career as an RBT in a school-based setting. This training is independent of the Behavior Analysts Certification Board (BACB).
The training may be purchased for individual use and to use with larger groups. This training may be purchased for individual user and may also be purchased to use with larger groups of trainees.
The RBT tutoring service is designed to prepare for the certification exam utilizing the Registered Behavior Technician Task List (2nd ed.). Each tutoring session will be tailored to each individual's needs and areas of difficulty. The tutors leading the sessions include a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a behavior analyst with a master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis.During our time, we will aim to provide you with the necessary tools to gain the knowledge and confidence to take the exam. Tammy Van Fleet, Ph.D., BCBA-D, is the director of Behavior Insights, Inc., and Social Skills Training Academy and is on the board of directors for Spectrum Workforce. Dr. Van Fleet also holds a California teaching credential. In her private practice, she helps individuals in various areas, including emotional regulation, anxiety treatment, issues with attention and focus, and social skills acquisition.
Dr. Van Fleet also consults and trains individuals in educational and professional institutions. She has authored and delivered several lectures as an adjunct professor and has presented at many professional trainings in the field of applied behavior analysis.
Dr. Van Fleet trains in a manner that is thorough and easy to understand. She gave ample examples throughout the training that helped me understand the content. I am excited to try the strategies I learned with the children I work with.
